DAY 1: ARRIVAL COFFEE REGION
Embark on a sensory journey to Colombia's Coffee Region, place where the aroma of premium Arabica beans fills the air. Discover rolling hills blanketed in coffee plantations, a testament to generations of passionate cultivation. Immerse yourself in the "coffee culture" by visiting traditional fincas, learning about the meticulous process from bean to cup, and indulging in exquisite coffee tastings.

Finca
Explore charming colonial towns like Salento, with its colorful architecture and the towering wax palms of the Cocora Valley nearby. Hike through verdant cloud forests, discover cascading waterfalls, and enjoy the tranquility of this breathtaking region. Experience the subtle luxury of boutique eco-lodges and savor the authentic flavors of local cuisine. The Coffee Region offers a unique blend of natural beauty, cultural immersion, and the unparalleled pleasure of savoring some of the world's finest coffee at its source.

OPTIONAL: COFFEE FARM VISIT
The tour includes a visit to a traditional coffee finca, where an expert will illuminate the entire coffee-making process, from meticulous bean selection to diverse preparation methods. Participants will gain insight into a coffee farmer's daily tasks, explore the crucial seedling nursery, and observe the processing stages.

The experience culminates with a delightful tasting session of Colombia's finest coffee. An English-speaking guide and private transportation ensure a seamless and educational adventure.

Salento

DAY 2: SALENTO & COCORA VALLEY, PALMS & TRADITIONS
Cocora's Palms, Salento's Soul, Unforgettable Stories

Embark on a breathtaking journey to the heart of Colombia's Coffee Region, starting in the iconic Cocora Valley. Renowned for the magnificent Wax Palm, Colombia’s national tree and the tallest in the world, this tour includes a two-hour hike through the valley's scenic mountain trails.

Wax Palm
The adventure continues to Salento, the department's oldest municipality, famous for its colorful architecture and traditional atmosphere. Here, guests choose their afternoon activity: they can either participate in a lively game of Tejo, Colombia’s unique indigenous sport, accompanied by a cold Colombian beer, or they can visit a small artisanal chocolate factory. At the factory, a family shares their inspiring dream of building a regional chocolate industry, and the experience concludes with a delicious dessert tasting.

Jeep
ALTERNATIVE TO COCORA VALLERY CARBONERA: WAX PALM EMPIRE TREK

Embark on the Carbonera, an exclusive day trip exploring the untouched trails and virgin lands surrounding Salento. Discover a wax palm forest twice the size of Cocora Valley, yet without the crowds. The adventure begins with a 23 km 4x4 journey (in a modern campero or classic Willys Jeep) along an old mountain road, offering breathtaking views of the Central Andes and Los Nevados National Park. At 3,378m, a 3km descent leads to a private farm for insights into local campesino culture.

Palm
Hike another 1.5 hours to the main viewpoint, offering 80% visibility of the wax palm area and an indigenous cemetery. Descend into the majestic wax palm forest for a closer look at Colombia's national tree, enjoying a lunch box amidst the giants. At Finca La Carbonera, relax with aguapanela and observe hummingbirds. Finally, choose between a 7km or 16 km hike back to Salento.

Cacao

DAY 3: CACAO FARM & CHOCOLATE CRAFT
Cacao Dreams: from Farm to Chocolate, Taste the Magic

Embark on a delightful journey through Colombia's Coffee Region, immersing yourself in the fascinating world of cacao and chocolate. This tour combines two unique experiences, offering a comprehensive understanding "from bean to bar." Begin by exploring a sustainable family-run farm, witnessing how traditional crops like coffee, plantain, cacao, and guadua coexist.

Cocoa
Learn about the rich history and agricultural traditions of the region while connecting directly with nature. Then, delve into a hands-on cacao and chocolate workshop. You'll participate in roasting, winnowing cacao nibs, and even grinding cocoa liquor to formulate your own 65% chocolate fondue. A guided walk through the cacao plantations will cover the biological and agronomic aspects of cacao, alongside the captivating history of chocolate. The experience culminates with a delicious traditional lunch or dinner, served at a typical fonda or with fresh fruit, and includes a welcoming chocolatada.
